OVERVIEW

The majesty and culture of Pakistan have attracted explorers for hundreds of years. Classic Pakistan Tour itinerary is designed to walk in their footprints and discover the vast diversity Pakistan has to offer. From the signature unique cuisine of each region to the contrasting landscape of Baltistan, from the sandy beaches of the Arabian Sea in Karachi to the giant Himalayan and Karakoram Peak, Pakistan is an adventure of the senses calling to be seen.
We have been creating holidays for over four decades, specialising in tailor-made Tours in Pakistan. All our Pakistan holidays can be tailored to suit your travel aspirations. This is one of the itineraries to give you an idea of what we can offer.
Our Classic Pakistan Tour starts from Islamabad, the green Capital of Pakistan. Arrive at Islamabad International Airport where our representative will meet and transfer you to the hotel for a rest. Your guide will meet you over dinner to give a detailed briefing about the tour. Next morning rise early to take a spectacular mountain view flight to Chitral (should the flight be cancelled the journey will be taken by car). Arrive in the sleepy mountain town of Chitral, and explore the local bazaar and historical Mosque. After lunch and watching a game of Polo, you will travel to Ayun and check into a wonderful guest house. Today you will drive to Runmbor and Balanguru villages of Kalash Valley. You will have two days in these historical villages to meet the Kalasha people and explore their ancient culture and traditions.
After two full days in Kalash Valley, today you will return from the mountain hideaway to Ayun and from there to Chitral. Check into a gorgeous accommodation, have lunch and the rest of the afternoon is at leisure to visit the local fort, watch a game of Polo or visit Chitral Gul to see wild goats- Markhor. Mastuj will be your next destination, a dramatic and beautiful drive on the windy roads to Mastuj.
You will be passing Tirich Mir, Boni Zong and Yarkund Valley close to Afghanistan’s Wakhan corridor. A short walk in the afternoon and spend the night in Mastuj. After breakfast travel to spectacular Shandur Pass (3,800m) which is famous for its 3 days summer polo tournament/festival when thousands of spectators from Chitral and Gilgit camp up here to enjoy the Festival. If you are travelling during the festival time, we can arrange a night stay here to watch a polo match followed by a bonfire, local music, singing and dancing by local people. We will have a stop at the Shandur Pass to have a tea break and a short walk then continue towards Gilgit city. If time allows then you might want to stop and see the famous clifftop carving of Lord Buddha. Night stay in Gilgit.
Gilgit is the administrative Capital of the Gilgit Baltistan Region, after breakfast we will visit the Christian cemetery and join the Karakoram Highway for a Magnificent drive with a spectacular view of Rakaposhi (7,788m) to Karimabad in the Hunza Valley. In Karimabad, you will visit the magnificent Altit Fort, a UNESCO-listed 700-year-old Baltit fort and experience a fantastic sunset view over the Rakaposhi mountain.
After exploring the beautiful Hunza valley, today you will travel back to Gilgit for a night stay then drive along the mighty Indus River to Skardu. Skardu lies on the banks of Indus which separates The Karakoram Range from the Himalayas. It is the getaway to some of the world-famous mountains, K2, Concordia, Broad PeakGasherbrum IGasherbrum iiMasherbrumSpantikHispar GlacierTrango Towers, Baltoro Glacier and many other peaks. Explore the long Skardu Bazar, neighbouring Shigar Valley, Kharpocho Fort and the 8th-century Buddha Rock of Skardu.
After spending two nights in Skardu, we will take a spectacular mountain view flight to Islamabad ( should the flight be cancelled, we travel by Jeep/land cruise to Astore via Deosai and then to Islamabad). Arrive in the capital, and it might take a while to get used to the daily hustle and bustle of a City. Spent a night in Islamabad, and we will transfer you to Islamabad Airport for your flight back home.
We strongly believe that the vibrant and charming inhabitants, strong traditions and colourful mountain valley will never fail to capture your heart. You will love nothing more than discovering Pakistan’s unique architecture, testing your taste buds with our spicy food and exploring the dramatic landscape, which begins in lush green Islamabad and ends in the snow-capped peaks at the roof of the world. INTERNAL FLIGHTS

SKARDU & CHITRAL FLIGHTS

Skardu and Chitral are weather-dependent airports. Since the valley is surrounded by high mountains, planes can only land here in good visibility and this means flights to Chitral and from Skardu are never guaranteed. The planes do fly more often than not, but cancellations can and do occur and in these circumstances, we will travel by road.

HEALTH & VACCINATION

You should contact your doctor or travel clinic to check whether you specifically require any vaccinations or other preventive measures. You should be up to date with routine courses and boosters as recommended in the UK e.g. diphtheria-tetanus-polio and measles-mumps-rubella), along with hepatitis A and typhoid. Malarial prophylaxis is discretionary for this trip. Malaria exists in the area around Islamabad. However, incidences of urban transmission of malaria are extremely low. In Chitral, HunzaSkardu and in the mountains there is no malaria risk. On holidays to more remote areas in Pakistan, you should also have a dentist check-up. A good online resource is Travel Health Pro. Dengue fever is a known risk in places near Islamabad (only). It is a tropical viral disease spread by daytime-biting mosquitoes. There is currently no vaccine or prophylaxis available and therefore the best form of prevention is to avoid being bitten. We recommend you take precautions to avoid mosquito bites

INSURANCE

We highly recommend you have adequate travel insurance for your Pakistan Tour with Trango Adventure. We recognise the complexity and variety of choices in the insurance market and know that many of you either have your preferred insurer or have annual multi-trip cover in place already. If this is the case, please ensure that your insurer is aware of your Trango Adventure itinerary and can agree to cover the activities being undertaken.

Trango Adventure does not provide any advice on travel insurance, although it is highly recommended that you have valid travel insurance to cover the activities which you are likely to be undertaking on your holiday.

Tour Reviews

Waqaas khuram
6th October 2020

Since many years we were planning to Visit the Gilgit Baltistan region of Pakistan. We were inspired by the sun-kissed mountains, mountain valleys and the glacier water rivers. We got in touch with trango adventure regarding our plans to visit Gilgit Baltistan. The travel advisor recommended their Classic Pakistan tour package. Tour started from Islamabad to Chitral then to Kalash valley. Our tour itinerary covered, Kalash, Gilgit, Hunza, Skardu, Deosai and back to Islamabad. We were given an English speaking culture guide and a private vehicle with a driver. Our guide and driver booth were from Gilgit Baltistan region, so they knew the area very well and had good knowledge of their culture and traditions. All the hotels were international tourist standard, not lower then 4* stat I must say. Very clean and safe hotel room and environments. All our meals were included in the package and as you can imagine how delicious Pakistani cuisine are.
We had a wonderful time in Pakistan, thank you trango Adventure team for arranging a great holiday for us in Pakistan. We wish you guys all the best and hope to see you guys soon.
