Food duding Trekking and Climbing Expedition in Pakistan.

During a trekking holiday and climbing expedition in Pakistan, we always make sure there is more than enough quantity to go around as trekkers and climbers will be hungry after a long day on the trail. Over the years, we have learned and worked on increasing the variety of the menus. We have expanded the list of ingredients provided to the chefs, and now they have more choices to make a variety of cousins.

For breakfast, we provide cereal or porridge, chapatis or toast, and eggs with hot drinks, including tea, hot chocolate, and coffee.

For lunch, we usually stop at a convenient spot. Most of the time, we stop along the streams with water at the side of the trail. The chef and kitchen assistance walk ahead of the group in the morning, and lunch should be ready shortly after our arrival. After lunch, we will have time to relax before starting to walk again in the afternoon.

On arrival at our camp in the afternoon, you have biscuits and a hot drink such as tea or coffee. Around 6 – 7 pm, we serve a three-course meal in the mess tent. The starter is often a different type of soup followed by the main course, which varies day-to-day. Main dishes contain carbohydrates including, bread, chapatis, rice, potatoes, or pasta. Most meals are also served, with delicious Chapatis (flatbreads) made freshly in the camp by the chef. While on a trek, we carry live chickens and goats to provide you meat dishes to fulfill your protein intakes.

We cater to a variety of dietary requirements while you are on a trek in Pakistan. Our meals are also suitable for vegetarians. If there is a meat dish as a main course, then we also provide vegetarian options as standard. When booking your trekking holiday, please let us know if you have any dietary needs and agree upon meal plans before departure. If you have any questions about the food provided during the trek and climbing expeditions, please let our travel advisers know.

A typical day, on a trekking holiday in Pakistan.

All our trekking holidays in Pakistan are on a full board basis, including a luxury three-course meal throughout the trip. We provide a comfortable experience on all our camping-style treks in Pakistan. Our guide and supporting crew work very hard in the field so that you can relax and enjoy the trekking holiday in Pakistan. We provide personal tents, kitchen tents, mess tents, and toilet tent(s). The camp will be set up and dismantled by our staff. We bring along an experienced chef and kitchen assistance to make fresh meals and serve.

A typical day on the trek usually starts with an early morning tea or coffee in the mess tent. Before you join breakfast in the mess tent, you have to pack your overnight gear into your duffel bag. While you are having breakfast, our staff packs away the tents. The porters arrange their loads and start walking on the trail early morning to take advantage of the cool breeze. After breakfast, between 7 and 8 am, we start trekking.

The pace of our treks is moderate as there is plenty of time in the well- thought itinerary to reach the camp for tonight. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the scenery of Karakoram mountain, take photos, and explore the majestic valleys of Pakistan. Lunch serves around midday at a traditional lunch break spot by the side of the trail. Our professional chef prepares lunch for us, and the food is usually ready by the time we arrive.

After lunch, have a short break, continue the trek, and on most days, we arrive in camp by mid-afternoon. Some of our staff would go ahead of the group to set up camp and to put up the tents. On arrival at the campsite, you will get a hot drink and biscuits. We serve a three-course meal in the mess tent around 6 -7 pm.

After dinner, your guide and the team leader will discuss the plan for the next day. Afterward, people might stay in the mess tent chatting about the day’s events or playing cards. After a long trekking day, most people get into their sleeping bags to call an early night. A trekking day tomorrow is likely to be very similar to today! The only difference is that if we have to cross a high pass such as Gondogoro la, Hispar pass, or climbing to a summit, we leave camp earlier in the morning.

Food during Tours in Pakistan

Sometimes, there are no restaurants available along the road, and in those circumstances, we have a picnic-style lunch, usually tinned meat, tinned fish, dry fruit, nuts, cheese, juices, and sandwiches. Dinner will be in your hotel, three courses meals; the starter is soup, samosas, pakoras, main courses are rice, lentils (dhal), vegetables, lamb, chicken, and pasta. Dessert is usually jelly, cold custard, fruit, rice pudding, or trifle. The tea, coffees, and snacks at tea break along the route. If you have any special dietary requirements, we recommend taking along some of your snacks or food. Pakistan is a mainly meat-eating country (goat, lamb, and chicken).
